Today, many drag racing organizations and promoters don’t offer anything different; they offer more of the same. What happened to the days of “run what you brung and hope you brung enough?” What happened to the days of class diversity, freedom and flexibility that allowed and embraced individualistic innovative ideas without the influence of money and politics?  Remember the days of the big match races, rivalries and showmanship? Where did it all go? Although we may not be able to pinpoint when, where and how the aforementioned exciting and entertaining attributes of drag racings past were lost, we can tell you who will bring more of it back.

NuSouth Drag Racing League would like to offer an eclectic drag racing experience by combining some “old school” with the new.  Our aspirations are to embrace, celebrate and bring to the forefront the true diversity among today’s high performance enthusiast. NDRL will provide heads up drag racing with a limited amount of restrictions and rules when it comes to power plants, power adders and chassis configurations.  Unnecessary politics and rules that can restrict the average racer from participating in heads up classes is not a necessity for the NuSouth Drag Racing League experience.

NDRL will showcase high performance cars and motorcycles.  There will be two drag racing series under the NDRL name:  Drag Car Series and Drag Motorcycle Series.  Multi-branding allows flexibility in addition to providing each series or event with its own unique image and identity.  Additionally, as we grow adding more to the entertainment value of the NDRL experience will always be an important part of our focus.

NDRL will target and market to ethnically diverse groups of racers and spectators who have typically been overlooked as a result of mainstream marketing.  NDRL believes several key cultural and ethnic groups have not been effectively reached by the traditional drag racing industry due to overly-generalized marketing strategies. NDRL embraces Diversity Marketing, an archetype that views marketing as essentially a specific effort in communicating with these diverse segments of the public. While NDRL will certainly provide an atmosphere that also embraces the traditional element, we intend to reach much further.

NDRL believes marketing communications must be in-culture, in-language and in-person. Diversity marketing recognizes the influence of cultural programming and behavior that is learned, and acknowledges that different consumer groups have life experiences in different cultural and social settings. As a result of this different cultural programming, the tastes, values, expectations, beliefs, ways of interaction, ways of entertainment, and lifestyle preferences of these groups tend to be different from the more traditional element. These differences require the creation of customized marketing strategies, and NDRL will reach out to these critical segments of the motorsports enthusiast populace.

The NDRL mission is to provide a drag racing environment with minimum rules, which encourages innovative performance ideas, and to unite all people who have a passionate interest in high performance cars and motorcycles.
